Speaker: Professor Fred Cahir

Topic: They Rescued Us: Aboriginal heroes on Country

Dr Fred Cahir, Professor of Australian History at Federation University of Australia, will illuminate the story of how thousands of colonists were rescued by Aboriginal people from life threatening bush fires, floods, shipwrecks – and from being lost in the bush. Fred’s presentation (and latest book) pays tribute to Indigenous Australian’s knowledge, mercy and heroic courage – which they freely offered to the invaders occupying their Country.
